Is it worth your life?

Imagine..

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death worldwide and the 2nd leading cause of death of young people between the ages of 15 and 29.
According to World Health Organization's (WHO) data, about 800,000 people die by suicide every year; that is, one person dies every 40 seconds (wow!).
The report further revealed that of every one death by suicide, there had been about 20 suicide attempts (wow!, again).

Now take sometime to think...
Imagine if this 800,000 people had voices, imagine if they had people to talk to, imagine if they actually talked to people about their ideas thoughts and feelings; do you think 800,000 of them would have taken their own life?
Think about the other 20 who attempted, what do you think made them not do it...?
On the other hand, the thought is still there, if they don't reach out to people and others don't reach out to them, they might still do it (yes!, they just might right now).

People commit suicide for various reasons such as bereavement, discouragement, frustration, despair, depression, a feeling of worthlessness and hopelessness.

Why do you think people commit suicide?, why is it now so rampant? Why is it rated the 2nd leading cause of death among young people? Is there a point in time when suicide can be seen as necessary?...  Please do leave your opinions in the comment section let's treat this together

 YOU NEED TO BE HEARD

  •  what does it mean 'to be heard' ?

Being heard is the ability of  being 'seen'. It is being able to come out of your head (inner voice or subconscious, if you may put) into the real world.
When you are 'heard', your audience can easily access you, know your value and worth (and yes, criticise you too).

Why do I need to be heard?

Imagine if everyone lived in their own thoughts, how would the world look like?.
The last person you met might have just  been considering suicide, before you said "hello" ; who knows?
Think of the great 'men' you know (beginning from your little area or locality), what if they had kept mute and only nursed their 'big' thoughts in their head?
The reasons for speaking out cannot be overemphasized... There's a lot in you that needs to be heard.

In the next episodes we'll be discussing more on points like;

  • How can I be heard?

  • What do I gain from speaking out?

Feel free to leave your views, observations, contributions, objections and critiques in the comment section.
Never forget to always 'Voice out'
